Toyota Working on Prius Recall Fix

Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday that the Prius [latin for "before, formerly"] involved in a highly publicized [read: highly amplified] acceleration incident on a California freeway along with hundreds of thousands of others will be recalled to prevent floor mats from pinning down the gas pedal [a floor mat did it? really? lulz ensue].

But the recall hasn't been issued because Toyota "hasn't developed the remedy yet," [!] said Toyota spokesman Brian Lyons.

In November, Toyota recalled several models including the Toyota Camry and Avalon sedans and the Lexus ES sedan to reshape the floor and gas pedals to prevent unsecured or ill-fitting floor mats from entrapping the pedal in an open position [lol i dunno about you but i took the floor mats out of the 2004 corolla that i drive because i couldnt put the pedal all the way down to the floor. thats the real acceleration issue is not being able to accelerate fully with the mats getting in the way].

As part of those recalls, Toyota said Prius hybrids from the 2004 to 2009 model years would be recalled in the future [haha yessssss!!!! allow it it time to marinate for now] to address the same issue. The company advised owners of those Priuses to remove their floor mats in the meantime to prevent the gas pedal from becoming trapped, said Mr. Lyons [yezzur mr. lyons massa sir, will do massa sir].

Toyota sold about 745,000 Priuses from the 2004 to 2009 model years, according to Autodata Corp.

General Motors (GM) announced on Tuesday a recall of 1.3 million Chevrolet and Pontiac cars in the US, Mexico, and Canada over problems with the power steering system.

The models, the 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007-2010 Pontiac G5 in the US, the 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit in Canada and the 2005-2006 Pontiac G4 in Mexico, were affected by a fault that causes the power steering in the vehicles to fail. The company says that cars can still be safely controlled even after the loss of power steering, although more effort to turn the car would be required.

GM is currently working on developing a fix for the problem, after having conducted an internal investigation for more than a year, beginning last January. In addition to GM's investigation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also conducted an investigation on the Cobalt, which began in January 2010. The investigation was begun after more than a thousand complaints about the model were received by the agency, including reports of 14 crashes caused by the fault. GM contacted the NHTSA about the problem on Monday.

GM blamed the issues on an external supplier partially owned by Toyota, another company currently in the process of a major recall of more than eight million vehicles. According to GM vice-chairman Bob Lutz, the supplier, which was not named, had not met "all requirements for reliability and durability." In his comments, given at the Geneva Motor Show, Lutz also said that financial responsibility for the recalls had yet to be determined.

Bloomberg is reporting that GM has ended development of the Cadillac Converj, an extended-range electric vehicle that was to be based on the same technology found in the upcoming Chevrolet Volt. Unnamed executives told the publication that a business plan couldn’t be made for the vehicle, despite the premium prices that could be charged for it under the auspices of the luxury nameplate.

During an appearance in January prior to the Detroit Auto Show, GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz told the Conference of the Society of Automotive Analysts that the vehicle was “heading for production.” GM never issued an official announcement either confirming or denying Lutz’ claim, but then-Cadillac General Manager Brian Nesbitt told Foxnews.com “there is a lot of work going on on the Converj. We’re very excited about it. I’d say there are still some approvals that have to take place, but we are working on it.”

Instead, Bloomberg says Cadillac will focus on more conventional plug-in hybrids with smaller , like the XTS concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. Federal regulators said Wednesday that they had received 10 reports of Toyota vehicles accelerating unexpectedly after they were repaired at dealerships.

The complaints have not been verified, but they add to questions about whether Toyota’s big recalls will resolve its problems with unexpected acceleration. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it had begun to contact and interview the consumers who filed the reports.

“If Toyota owners are still experiencing sudden acceleration incidents after taking their cars to the dealership, we want to know about it,” the agency’s administrator, David Strickland, said in a statement.

Toyota said its United States dealerships had repaired more than a million vehicles since early February out of six million vehicles that have been recalled to fix problems with the accelerator pedal. More than two million vehicles in other countries have also been recalled.

In some cases, Toyota says the accelerator pedal can become hard to depress or stuck partly depressed, and in others the pedal could become trapped under the floor mat, causing the vehicle to speed out of the driver’s control.

“We are confident that Toyota vehicles are safe, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure that our customers are satisfied with the rigorously tested recall remedies,” Brian R. Lyons, a Toyota spokesman, said in an e-mail message. “We are taking steps to quickly investigate these complaints.”

Several of the new complaints about problems in cars that have been repaired involve Camry sedans. The owner of a 2009 Camry said that on Feb. 25, two days after the car received the recall repair, it suddenly sped up and went into a ditch. The owner of a 2010 Camry repaired Feb. 12 wrote that the car accelerated into a snow bank five days later. Both drivers said they had tried to brake, but were unable to stop the car before going off the road.

As of this week, regulators said they had received reports of 52 fatalities and 38 injuries in incidents said to have been caused by unexpected acceleration of a Toyota. Three-quarters of the incidents were reported in the last four months, since Toyota began recalling vehicles for possible pedal entrapment.

Toyota executives testified this week to a Senate panel investigating the recalls that they were confident, as they had said since the recalls began, that the problem was caused by either the pedal or floor mats and not by the vehicles’ electronic throttle control systems.

“I want to be absolutely clear: As a result of our extensive testing, we do not believe sudden unintended acceleration because of a defect in our E.T.C.S. has ever happened,” Takeshi Uchiyamada, an executive vice president for Toyota, said. concentration camps - but I am saying that the way Hitler suddenly

answer to your question is, I have no idea other than increasing my
control. I certainly think there are way too many people on this
planet. If we could just control the number of people on this planet
to half of 1% of 1% of 1% of the current population, and then guide
procreation using computers, that would really be a better world.

I've got to admit, I'm having a blast seeing djhives, every now and then, trying to decipher the flamboyant agneda video and the de/evolutionary information contained within...

A group of MPs have asked Surrey's Chief Constable to rethink cutting police cover on the River Thames.

They say that it means the Thames in Surrey will no longer have a police officer dedicated to the safety and security of the river.

Instead, cover will be provided by 16 neighbourhood policing teams.

Surrey Police said the River Specialist Officer's post was being axed as a result of the government's decision to cap the force budget.

The officer, Pc Jim Halstead, has been redeployed to the Elmbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Philip Hammond, MP for Runnymede & Weybridge, said officers whose primary job was on land were not ideal for dealing with water-related incidents.

He and two other Surrey MPs have written to Chief Constable Mark Rowley asking for a rethink.

"It is not just safety - there is also a significant crime issue around the economic activity along the river," he said.

"There is lots of boat-related economic activity and there are historically significant amounts of crime related to this area."

"We are concerned that we are going to have situations where officers are standing on the bank staring at problems - unable to intervene," he said.

Surrey Police Authority has said the budget cap will cost 50 frontline jobs.

The High Court refused permission for a judicial review of the cap on Friday.

Supt Rachel Tills said the decision to cut the specialist river post had not been taken lightly.

"This decision does not mean a reduction in the force's commitment to continuing to police the river."

She said the force would be meeting the Environment Agency and hoped to maintain the current police hours on the river.

NEW DELHI/LONDON: London is under a fresh terror threat with terror outfits plotting to send explosives-laden boats down the Thames river to blow up key city buildings and tourist spots.

The Houses of Parliament, London Eye and the Canary Wharf figure are among the over 100 key sites that are said to be under threat, UK newspaper Daily Star has reported.

The attack plans — apparently inspired by the Mumbai 26/11 attacks during which Lashker-e-Taiba terrorists came in through the sea route and struck at top-end hotels — have led the authorities to put the river police on red alert for fanatic elements.

Even the Met’s marine support unit has been stopping and searching boats under the counter-terror laws. “Mumbai showed just how easy it is for terrorists to use boats to aid co-ordinated attacks. The vessels were used to get into the city, but they could just as easily launch an attack from the boats,” an intelligence official in London was quoted as saying.

Sgt Mark Spurgeon of the marine support unit said: “Protecting London from terrorists is now our primary objective...there are a number of high-profile buildings — like the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye — that could be targeted at any time.” “We are stepping up patrols on the Thames and stopping and searching boats for weapons and suspicious packages.”

River security in the UK had earlier been tightened since gunmen slipped into Mumbai by boats last November, exposing the vulnerability of India’s coastline. The terrorist attacks claimed the lives of over 170 people, including many foreign nationals. Meanwhile, President Barack Obama has said that UK faced a greater threat from terrorists than even the US.

“The likelihood of a terrorist attack in London is at least as high, if not higher, than it is in the United States,” Mr Obama said on Saturday.

Security chiefs in the US have admitted that Britain’s fighting presence in Afghanistan makes it a more prominent terrorist target. And Mr Obama made the same point, saying: “The mission in Afghanistan is one that the Europeans have as much if not more of a stake in than we do.”

A stretch of I-75 was expected to be shut down indefinitely after a gasoline tanker exploded Wednesday night near 9 Mile, causing the overpass on the northbound side to collapse.

Thick black smoke billowed from the scene and flames shot up 150 to 200 feet, snarling traffic on both sides. Authorities advised the thousands of commuters heading for work this morning to look for alternative routes.

That section of I-75 — from 8 Mile to I-696 — carries an average of more than 160,000 vehicles a day, according to state traffic counts.

The tanker overturned apparently after colliding with a tractor-trailer. It was not immediately clear how many vehicles were involved. The tanker driver appeared to have survived.

Lt. Shannon Sims of the Michigan State Police post in Oak Park confirmed that the fire and heat from the tanker blast had caused the 9 Mile overpass above northbound I-75 to collapse.

“Until they get that fire out, it's going to be hard for us to get in there and determine what happened,” Sims said.

Samantha Kaca and stepfather Jeff Waller walked from their home to the scene. “It was a total burnout,” he said.

Thick smoke, giant flames keep police from accident

It was unlike anything they had ever seen.

Stuck in traffic when I-75 was shut down Wednesday night after a massive tanker explosion, drivers had no choice but to watch the aftermath unfold.

They described thick black smoke filling the sky, dancing flames and an overpass that crashed down onto the highway.

And today motorists will be directed toward alternate routes that include the Lodge Freeway and surface streets including Woodward, Dequindre, John R and other nearby north-south routes. It also could push additional traffic onto I-94 in Detroit and the east-side suburbs.

But those who were in traffic or watching nearby Wednesday night were so mesmerized police had to force them back for safety.

Dorothy Mirasolo lives in Hazel Park, less than a half mile northwest of the explosion.

“I heard an explosion. I was like, ‘What the heck is that?' At first I thought it was a car hitting a car. Then it sounded like shotguns going off and it was very close.”

She said explosions kept happening over the course of five minutes.

She, along with hundreds of others, went on the pedestrian bridge, about a quarter mile north of the accident site to get a bird's-eye view of the happenings.

It was there that she noticed the bridge had collapsed.

“To me, when I first got there, it looked like it was OK. All of a sudden I noticed it was down. There was so much smoke you couldn't see it very well.”

Sims confirmed it appeared the heat from the tanker blast and fire led the 9 Mile overpass above northbound I-75 to collapse.

Mirasolo said police forced her and others to move away as a safety precaution.

Kevin Dwight, 41, of Ferndale said his pastor smelled smoke and sent parishioners outside to see where it was coming from.

“We saw thick black smoke in the middle of 9 Mile from under the bridge on 75,” said Dwight, who attends the Solid Rock Church.

State police on the scene and asked people to return to their homes.

Witnesses say flames and black, billowing plumes of smoke were reaching 150 to 200 feet into the air and gas that reached the sewers along the freeway also caught fire.

Police ordered onlookers gathered along the top of the embankments along the crash site to move back to avoid exposure to toxic smoke.

An estimated 2,000 DTE Energy customers were without power because of blown circuits, Lorie Kessler, a spokeswoman for the utility company, said Wednesday night.

A firefighter answering the phone at the Hazel Park Fire Department said a power outage apparently related to the crash and fire had the station operating on generators, which was hampering communications but not the battle to contain the flames.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said both ramps from both directions of I-696 to southbound I-75 were closed. It appeared traffic was being diverted off I-75 at I-696 and 8 Mile.

“Thankfully this didn't happen during rush-hour traffic,” Sims said.

It wasn't clear when either direction of I-75 would reopen. If the damage is extensive enough to extend repairs for days or more, it will make for an enormous traffic mess. That section of I-75 carries an average of more than 160,000 vehicles a day, according to state traffic counts.

The crash occurred when a metal beam supporting pillars gave way, Delhi Metro Rail Corp. spokesman Anuj Dayal told CNN.

Concrete slabs came crashing down, burying workers beneath, officials said.

The dead included one site engineer, said Mohammad Akhlaque, police sub-inspector.

The man in charge of building the Metro system offered to quit the project Sunday.

"I take full moral responsibility for this accident. And having taken this moral responsibility, I have decided to resign as the managing director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation," Elattuvalapil Sreedharan told a news conference.

Sreedharan, 77, however, noted that Sunday's crash would set the metro project back by three months.

New Delhi launched its metro system six years ago, a project that cut through India's bureaucratic red-tape that usually holds back big infrastructure programs.

Construction on new lines has been proceeding at a frenzied pace as the city gets ready [its q&k time this fall/winter] to host the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

Hailed as a relief in India's traffic-congested capital, the metro has a tarnished safety record.

You all definately need to watch this, as it slaps around the future swine flu event about one's cheek mercilessly. The allegory is so fucking obvious, that its hilarious! So, pretty much to sum it all up, Eva Mendes plays a HAWT babysitter to the HAWT lil snobby stuck up Scarlett Johansen, whose little prankster brother ends up horsing around with the wrong shit and turns into a PIG! Random huh? No. So they all take a road trip to MEXICO in search of Eva's grandma to cure this pig. While in her hometown in MEXICO, the pig finds itself trapped in a butcher's pig pen. Randomly, the butcher begins to sneeze alot and no real attention is put onto this 'minor' detail in the movie. As you can already guess, he has the FLU, or SWINE FLU. A great homage to the OCCULTATION is seen towards the end when the grandma cures george the pig under a full moon whose light must pass through the EYE of PIG MOUNTAIN. lol.

Remember, this premiered back in 1999.

Oh and remember to look out for the allegory of the avian flu as well, when the butcher is seen sneezing.

Disney World monorail crash kills driver

(CNN) -- Two monorail trains at Walt Disney World collided early Sunday, killing a 21-year-old driver.

A witness said one of the trains rammed into the back of a stationary train about 2 a.m. at the resort's Ticket and Transport Center.

There were eight people on board at the time, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

A second employee was taken to a hospital to be checked; the six guests -- members of a single family -- were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and released. Disney World officials said none of the seven was injured.

Authorities identified the driver as Austin Wuennenberg, a senior at Stetson University studying computer science.

"It's a terrible day for us," said Mike Griffin, Disney's vice president for public affairs. "Our hearts go out to to Austin and his family."

A statement from Wuennenberg's family said, "He always enjoyed his work at Disney, and especially enoyed his work as a monorail pilot. He has many great friends who he has positively influenced; everyone will truly miss this dynamic young man."

The theme park is working with county authorities and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the investigation.

"The safety of our cast and our guests is legendary and it's our top priority," Griffin said. Disney World calls its employees "cast members."

The monorail was shut after the accident, Griffin said.

Images from the scene showed the front car of a train badly damaged where it hit the other train at a station.

MERRILLVILLE — Several people were reported injured late Saturday when a pedestrian bridge at Hidden Lake Park collapsed, sending at least 100 people into the water below after the annual fireworks show.

Details were incomplete late Saturday but dive teams from Porter and Lake counties were called in to search the water. Divers arrived at the park around 11 p.m. As many as 11 people were missing late Saturday, according to emergency personnel at the scene.

At least 20 ambulances and more than 50 emergency vehicles were summoned amid what appeared to be confusion caused in part by the large number of vehicles that impeded rescue operations.

At least two people were seriously injured, officials said.

A human chain in the water was set up to search for potential victims but nobody was located.
“We were walking across, and everybody just stopped ... we heard two snaps, and we all went in the water,” said Seth Argullin, 29, of Merrillville.

The crowds had gathered at the park for the fireworks display and were leaving just after 10 p.m.

Emergency vehicles were hampered in rescue operations because of the crowd, police reported on radio. At least one helicopter was dispatched to provide lighting.

The park is at 63rd Avenue and Broadway in Merrillville.

Lake Ridge and Crown Point provided mutual aid for Merrillville fire protection. Northbound Broadway was shut down during the rescue operation.

The wooden suspension bridge is wide enough to accommodate vehicles. It was not known what caused its collapse.

Reports suggested at least two of the victims suffered broken bones.

St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, The Methodist Hospitals in Merrillville and Saint Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point accepted the injured.

Early morning coincidences: Train crash and bridge collapse happen at same time [O RLY?]

Is 2:34am the witching hour in China? In a bizarre and terrible coincidence for infrastructure, a bridge in Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province collapsed at the exact same minute as two passenger trains crashing into each other in the central province of Hunan, if reports are to be believed.

The train crash, which happened in Chenzhou, Hunan, killed at least three people and injured 60. Train K9017 from provincial capital Changsha to Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, and another train K9063 from Tongren, Guizhou Province, to Shenzhen collided, causing several carriages to be forced off the tracks. The media reported that the derailed cars had also knocked over some nearby houses.

According to the Associated Press:
"One train compartment has been crushed out of shape. Debris and the belongings of the passengers are scattered everywhere," a CCTV reporter said as the camera showed seats ripped from the floor and the ground littered with plastic bottles and scraps of paper.

Rescue workers wearing hardhats ran around giving police and medics instructions as they crammed into collapsed train compartments. Workers helped by cleaning up ruined walls of nearby houses and fixing power lines. Trains resumed running at 10 am on one side of the station while the other side remained blocked, leaving thousands of passengers stranded until at least midday, said China Daily.

Meanwhile, at that exact minute in Tieli City in Heilongjiang, the Xida Bridge suddenly collapsed, sending seven trucks carrying 16 people plunging into the Hulan River.

According to China Daily:
“According to an initial investigation, an overloaded truck carrying steel and building materials is blamed for the accident,” said Zhang Yang, Mayor of Tieli.

Tieli has experienced three weeks of constant downpour. The wet weather was earlier speculated as contributing to the cause of the accident.

While China Daily insisted that all 16 victims were rescued and now safe and sound, CRI reported that one person had died and four were injured. We guess we'll find out the true stats by tomorrow.

While we're interested in getting to the bottom of that, what we're even keener on is figuring out the chances of two major accidents happening in China at exactly the same time. How curious! We guess we know the exact time to stay away from infrastructure projects in this country from now on.

ATLANTA (AP) — Crews used cranes Tuesday to lift crushed cars from a collapsed parking garage [Refer back to previous post] as they continued to stabilize the structure and search debris, but it still wasn't clear what caused the deck to collapse from the fourth floor to the ground level a day earlier.

Remarkably [Miraculously], no injuries were reported and there were no accounts of missing people. But rescuers using dogs, listening devices and thermal cameras said they still hadn't finished searching the wreckage and planned to continue through a second night.

"Until the job is done, we'll be here," Atlanta Fire and Rescue spokesman Bobby Stewart said, adding that he didn't know how long the search and rescue operation would take.

One crane lifted badly damaged cars from the hole left by the collapse while another was used to remove debris. At least 38 cars were damaged. Undamaged cars were being towed out. The process was slow-moving, Stewart said, because the structure had to be checked for stability and sometimes shored up again after each removal.

Rescue workers were searching each vehicle as it was removed, and crews would continue to search "every corner, every confined space" in the structure to make sure no victim is left behind, Stewart said.

The deck collapsed about lunchtime Monday in the busy commercial district of Midtown. More than 50 firefighters rushed to the scene and the bottom level was a "huge mess of vehicles and concrete," Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran said.

What caused the 7-year-old structure to collapse was not immediately known, and Steward said he didn't know what agency would conduct an investigation once the fire department completes its search and rescue operation. It also wasn't immediately clear whether the garage could be repaired or would need to be demolished.

Atlanta-based Hardin Construction, the general contractor on the deck, was one of three companies that was working at the Atlanta Botanical Garden when a pedestrian bridge collapsed in December, killing one worker and injuring 18.

Hardin Construction spokeswoman Barkley Russell confirmed the company was the general contractor on the parking deck and surrounding office complex. She said the majority of the deck work was done by subcontractor Metromont Corp., based in Greenville, S.C.

Hardin president Bill Pinto said in a statement Tuesday that even though the company's "last direct involvement with the Centergy project was in 2002, senior Hardin staff members were on site immediately, joining others in trying to understand what happened."

Harry Gleich, vice-president of engineering for Metromont, said he didn't know why the structure failed but said hot weather and weight were not likely factors.

"No investigation has started," he said at a midday news conference Tuesday.

He said the deck was built from prefabricated, precast concrete pieces manufactured at their plants in Greenville, S.C. and Hiram, Ga. The pieces were assembled on site with a "topping slab" of concrete poured on top. He estimated that over 60 percent of U.S. parking garages are built this way.

"As far as I know, they're as safe as any other construction," Gleich said.

The parking deck was last inspected at the time it was built and cleared for occupancy in 2002, said Catherine Woodling, spokeswoman for Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin. It has not had any code violations, Woodling said.

Hardin was fined $6,300 earlier this month by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the Botanical Garden bridge collapse. The agency's report concluded Hardin and another company placed two support towers too far apart, which may have caused the collapse. The company is appealing.

The collapse at the Lotus [Link to:British Sports Car Maker] Riverside, a complex of 11 residential buildings in Shanghai, early on Saturday morning killed one construction worker and left hundreds of prospective tenants angrily demanding their money back.

China's official news agency, Xinhua, said officials were taking "appropriate control measures" against nine people, including the developer, construction contractor and supervisor of the project after it was reported that the company's construction license had expired in 2004.

The collapse shocked many in China where construction failures are relatively common in inland areas, but not expected in showcase cities such as Shanghai which will host the 2010 World Expo.

On Monday, just two days after the Shanghai collapse, rescuers were searching a river in northeast China after a section of a road bridge gave way, sending seven vehicles into the water below.

Local sources said the bridge in Tieli, a city in Heilongjiang province, had been built in 1973 but repaired as recently as 1997 [you will see that a lot of bridges may have been 'repaired' but both you and I know that thats bullshit].

Preliminary investigations found that the Shanghai building fell over after workers began excavating an underground garage for the complex, causing the bank of the river next to the complex to collapse.

Hundreds of prospective tenants besieged government offices demanding refunds for apartments in the same complex which they had already purchased for upwards of £40,000 but were now too frightened to live in.

China Daily, the state-run newspaper, penned an angry editorial decrying the often corrupt nexus between Chinese property developers and local government officials who depend on property taxes and land sales for a significant proportion of their income.

The paper raised fears – expressed by some construction industry insiders in China – that many buildings designed to have a 70-year lifespan [TICKING TIME BOMBS] "would not stand firm beyond 30 to 40 years" because of corner-cutting during China's rampant construction boom.

"It is ironic that such an accident happened in Shanghai – one of the most advanced and international Chinese cities," the paper concluded.

"The sheer fact that such a collapse occurred in the country's biggest metropolis should serves as warning to all developers and the authorities to ensure that construction projects do not cut corners and endanger people's lives."

In this case, the disease is challenging your immune system. one's immune system cannot get stronger if there isnt anything to put it into action. The same can be said in succeeding in life. Overcoming a challenge, such as one to your immune system, is the first step in generating adaptations, mutating, and finally evolving.

Weakening the immune system for the short term = stronger immune system in the long term.

So this new movie coming out will be mind blowing for you all. I had so much to cover that I had to make a rough outline for the movie sequences (as opposed to off the dome when I made The Flamboyant Agenda). I already have a KILLER SOUNDTRACK ready for all clips and photos used. and the intro is great imo. The movie will have to be divided into two chapters/sections interrupted by an intermission lol. It's been too long, the product of thought left in abundant absence I conclude. Instinct is how we find the beneficial chemicals, it is simply the shortcut of emotionally driven intuition instead of logic. When we feed instinct we become a slave to our impulse mechanisims, superstitions form and we can be led to believe anything that feeds our hidden addictions.

Religion is felt in the gut, our gut tells us that there has to be more out there that we cannot find an explanation for. Those who reject science are therefore not victims but sheep. The preists just figured out HOW it satisfies our chemical needs to shortcut the thought process and insert dogma and superstition. They used induction to create the savior that satisfies the WHY of the lazy majority.

Yet that did not satisfy all. The ones who knew science went a step further. Why do you think that all religions were based around inebriant chemicals? In pagan times the shaman was really a healer and a drug pusher. The local shaman would make you trip to burn god into your brain and the chemicals from disbelievers were re-writtwen. The christian religion relates to the zodiac and the hallucinogenic mushroom. When momentum was gained they used the herd instinct to provide the chemical induction needed to sustain the program loop. Even then the planet was just a chemical computer. In later times we used sacramental wine. In even modern times we had prescription drugs or designer drugs and the television. It is not hard to see why Karl Marx said "Religion is the opiate of the masses." We can find truth if we struggle to look for it but for most that is the hardest pill to swallow of all.

In the valley of the real do we not also mask ourselves? We are all copies of an imitation. (Clones as DeKn once put it.) We simply take in data based on supposed authority and then regurgitate it back in a multitude of endless conversations untill death. Constant stimulus and response to the sensory input. Just imagine what Helen Keller went through having only the channels of taste, smell and feel. You are mostly a seeing people with the capacity to hear, yet look at what we spend our gifts of nature on. We remain trapped within the perception that we are living our own lives, yet within our masks we are only a phantom of the greater self that we deny. We assume the identity of the cop or the artist and struggle along the short path of a role, completely avoiding the truth of self that could be had if we just learned things the hard way.

All is not lost, return to the wild and you will see what I mean. I do not mean the jungle but the heart of the hive itself. This is the time to devour the insencere. (Eat them as Nemesis put it.) Let them wallow in their tired parade of status and accomplishments, they are as empty as achievements in a videogame. At the end of their road they are back where they started and have taken nothing with them, because meaning is not found in what you drive or what you carry on your back. The sum total meaning of life is what you carry with you in your mind! The rarest item of all is an intellect that is not tarnished by the desire to belong but has the will to forge new ground. A quirk of geology appears to have set the stage for the rise of complex life on Earth, scientists say.

A subtle geochemical change in the lava spewing from volcanoes 2.7 billion years ago radically altered the primordial seas and would have made way for the proliferation of oxygen-producing microbes, which transformed the oceans and the atmosphere and fuelled evolution of creatures that eventually crawled out of the sea, a Canadian-led team reports Thursday in the journal Nature.

"If the oxygen-producing bacteria had never taken over, we wouldn't be here right now," says lead author Kurt Konhauser, a geomicrobiologist at the University of Alberta.

He and his colleagues analyzed ancient rocks collected from dozens of locations from Ontario to Australia. The rocks, up to 3.8 billion years old, formed as sediments rained down on the sea floor.

They say telltale evidence in the rocks shows the nickel levels in the sea water began dropping approximately 2.7 billion years ago and by 2.5 billion years ago, were down by more than half — a finding they say is consistent with a major decrease in the nickel in lava spewing out of the volcanoes as the Earth's core cooled.

The timing also fits with a key turning point in Earth's history, the so-called Great Oxidation Event, that changed the trajectory life was on. Microbes that had filled the ancient seas and skies with methane gas gave way to the rise of the oxygen-producers that eventually led to multi-cellular life.

The oxidation event has long puzzled scientists, and the drop in nickel in the ancient seas appears to explain what happened, say Konhauser and his colleagues.

The methane-producing microbes, known as methanogens, were gluttons for the nickel and needed high concentrations of the mineral to survive. As the nickel levels plummeted, the scientists say the microbes would have faced a "nickel famine" and died off.

"The drop in nickel basically meant they could no longer be kingpin," says Konhauser.

The nickel-poor waters would, however, have been very hospitable to oxygen-producing microbes. And they soon took over as the dominant microbes, pumping oxygen into the oceans and air.

"You affect one part of the Earth's system and it has ramifications on another," says Konhauser.

Marine scientist Mak Saito, of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, describes the findings as both "exciting" and "sobering." It suggests "a single geological change can starve a major oceanic microbial community and thereby change the trajectory of life on Earth," Saito notes in a Nature commentary.

The scientists say the nickel decline may also explain the planetary-scale glaciation known as Snowball Earth that began about 2.3 billion years ago. As the methanogen microbes died off, there would have been a big drop in atmospheric levels of methane gas, a potent greenhouse gas. This could have cooled the atmosphere, triggering the glaciation.

Methanogens still exist today but only in oxygen-poor environments, such as swamps and landfills. "They dominated the Earth up until 2.7 billion years ago," says Konhauser. "Now they're just bit players living out in really marginalized environments."

By now, most of you know what Lifekill is. You know why there are wars. You know why it is essential to the survival of a herd. You know why that without Lifekill, resources would vanish. A golden ratio of consumers to resources must be kept in line, in balance. Fine.

But has Lifekill been so effective? Is that all there really is to it? No. Lifekill goes deeper. You'd think that Lifekill would have kept the world's population in check by now (reduced 2/3 or what say you). "The world population is the total number of living humans on Earth at a given time. Living with Altair: A Journey through Memory in the Utopian State of Mind

Ok, here goes a lil' fun with fiction...

The day before yesterday was in fact a week ago from today. The day a week ago was yesterday and all of yesterdays are today. And with all this said, it is known that the past will always dwell with the present. I can still sense the salty air at Aquila beach still bow-tied with the smell of her freshly shampooed hair. The thought of her smooth yet sand interrupted skin still lingered at my sense of touch. Cobwebs, it felt like, stroked my neckline but not as irritatingly so, as this feeling of her was still at bliss. This brunette’s long hair of glory draped curtains around me and the dim lit sky behind her. Stars in the invisible glass sky mimicked the freckles on her cheeks. A gargantuan image of the ringed planet, Terrius, sleepily layed in the background. A lunar eclipse might possibly describe her soft pale skin and round cheeks as they descended down on me in privacy. And finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for ignited the double sun sunset night even with closed eyes. My first kiss with her will always be missed. It will always be remembered and re-lived. A photo flash finish and the memory faded out into the darkness. Here I was back again at the present. I think I will enjoy some of last year’s memory again later in the bi-solar day. Uncuffing myself from the vitruvian star machine, I stepped back down to the present day Nibiru and left the chamber. The glass skywalks made pleasant viewing of the jade green oceans well below my feet. My every step invaded the sounds of the waves clashing below. But in this joyful state of being, they harmonized with each other and created a pleasant soundtrack for the walk back home. Happily, and at peace of mind, I enjoyed taking in the imperfect perfection planet Nibiru had to offer me. After all, not everyone thinks a first kiss with a brunette under the crystal clear sky of Altair at Aquila beach is perfection. I know many who would complain at the thought of having diamond sand encrustations coating their hair tips. It’s too rough they say, but some do like it rough I say. How lucky was I to have made it this far from Earth to Altair? If there is a heaven and if there is a hell, then I survived a hell of a rough journey from Earth to here. You see, a utopia is a state of mind. With all the chaos, deceit, and corruption back at Earth, achieving this utopia was impossible. People were dying of depression and fine memory starvation. Every crumb of a good memory was consumed by the gluttony of the bad memories. The poor were defined by their lack of positive emotion. The rich struggled to stay rich, but failed miserably upon realizing that their good memories were made from their harassment and neglect of other people. The sons and daughters of the new gave me another chance at a perfect life, carrying along with me the good memories of the past. Altair would give me the freedom to peace of mind by its method of memory restructure, access to clearly stored memories, and flexibility of user memory duration. More importantly, Altair would give me a new hope and a new home.

The Altar of Altair, as it is officially named, spread out waiting for me to latch back in; spread out to complete the mechanism to travel in memory rather than simply travel in time. The fabric of space is an ever abundant wooly cloth in which time and memory are stitched together creating a dimension of life to its creator. Humans are the grand cloth makers, and through sowing a length of time to lived memories, they will carry with them a blanket of life to be lived. Any part of this cloth of space can be reached in the realm of its unique creator. People can travel through all seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years of their lives! The method of memory restructure by the Altar of Altair makes reliving great moments in life possible again. These are moments in which everything in the world or in the immediate environment seems to become perfect in the eye of the beholder. The altar stood at a vertical plane resting at all four sides of the marble chamber’s hall in five points. The memory travel device spread out in five points of a star. Each tip of the star shaped device was comprised of unique metal alloy fasteners. The center of the star device left an empty silhouette of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man to be filled in by the user. Setting myself in this device, I could feel the gel-like fillers in the hollow 5 points of the star enveloping my hands, feet, and scalp in what felt like a dead cold. Goosebumps had overpopulated on the surface of my body, but soon began to fall back into my skin as the Altar of Altair was fired up by the mere impulses of my brain. The air became ionized as I could easily taste it on my tongue even with a shut jaw. The nodes and energy passages running through the star’s five points immediately lost their transparency in the pink gel and glowed to an amazing titanium blue. The dark chamber hall illuminated to lines and right angles of this deep true blue finish and grew in luminosity to a heavenly pure crisp white. I felt motion and an intense velocity of ascension to somewhere, somewhere where I wanted to go. I squinted throughout everything as the white did flood my pupils in blindness. The surrounding parameter of this worm hole I was travelling through could not be heard. The air could not be felt. I wasn’t too sure if I was even still alive. And yet, while all sense was lost, something began to fine tune itself.

Imagery and perception began to fade in from white, to a grayscale, and back to pure light spectrum color. I squinted to regain my focus again from the blur of life before me. I gasped for a grand gulp of oxygen to refill my empty lungs only to be filled by the smell of charcoal and ash that should have been snowflakes falling. At least, I wish it were snowflakes falling as I clearly remember hoping for back then. My mom stood hunched in front of me, facing me with those glossy green eyes. Staring into them alone, I could tell that her eyes screamed and cried for my survival. Her ash smeared face soon drew lines of tears down her cheeks and eventually tear dropping off her jaw line, bungee cording away from her with no bungee. Soot and ash were everywhere; the sky was a pale, death bed gray. Crowds of chaos made up the background. There is so much pain everywhere, I thought. This was the downside to the highly developed memory travel technology that the Altar of Altair possessed. It had nothing but laser cut, clear memories for you to go back to. Everything within the memory was accurate to all senses, emotions and time. It was an unbearable memory but it was the last memory I had of my mother. Nuclear war had broken out in certain parts of the world, and martial law had been declared in the U.S. by the elite. It was said that our survival depended on the control that the government would put on its citizens. News broke out of concentration camps being utilized by FEMA to gather everyone together. When space ran out, people began to disappear into the fire. Trains were loaded with clumps of screaming fleshy humans. Infants were ripped out of the hands of their mothers and left for dead on the soot covered firm pavement. Families were destroyed in a matter of seconds. And my mom, all that I had left in this universe, would soon be separated and ripped away from my hugging clench too. “I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough yet to keep you in my arms mommy!” Everything turned blurry and distorted again and these last tear filled images made everything look like an aquarium in disaster. She was long gone now, but I still remember those casino-like lights in the sky that broke through everything that was happening at the time. My lips were salty from my tears as I licked them dry. I wiped away my gray face with the sleeve of my plaid wool coat. It was rough, but I could see clearly now the rain was gone. The sky appeared to have opened up as if it had something good to say finally. Instantaneously, a slight portion of a craft that was not of this world became visible. It began to descend while blowing away cloud formations, and then, a flash!

My eyes re-opened, feeling swollen and heavy, they struggled to stretch all the way. It took me a few seconds to come back to my senses that I was back in Altair again. I remembered that I had set the altar to return me to present state after a time lapse of five Altarian minutes. Memory travel is just like regular travel. I can go back in my time and still meet someone back for lunch in present time if I had to. I get to choose and control my duration and sustainment of selected memory by the flick of a brain wave before memory travel is initiated. I can even meet someone back at a past shared memory. Disengaging the star device, the star’s points unlocked me from their jelly grasp. A suction of air slurped out along with my hands, feet, and head. I stepped out of the marble chamber peering out into altair. The whole binary star system was visible! I often overlook it, but it was especially beautiful at this time of night.

Realizing I was late for my date with the brunette, I stumbled from my freeze framed moment of awe and back into a progression of the present. More memories lay ahead of me to experience. Life is good. I better keep it that way. A light jog to Café 2Stellar ought to get me there on time to my Nibiruan beauty. And with every landing step to her, I began to realize the state of my utopia. I was blessed to reach my state of utopia here at the Altair system. With more positive memories, I’ll have my state of utopia reinforced more and more. There will be more exciting visits in the Altar of Altair when I want to, where I want to, and how I want to. A utopia isn’t perfect without first realizing what makes the outside world imperfect. It is only with struggle that a light can be found, because without dark, there is no light, and without light, there is no dark. I will always remember Earth, and thankful for these new friends who have given my mom peace and rest. I’ll see you in times both good and bad; both old and new. I’ll see you in a constellation of memory near you.
